Frequently Asked Questions

Twenty clear answers covering rankings, profiles, payments, certificate access, verification, privacy and search visibility.

What is ResearchRank?

ResearchRank is a research intelligence, ranking and professional recognition platform that presents researcher, institution, publisher, country and subject analytics using ResearchRank-processed scholarly metadata and transparent ranking contexts.

How is a ResearchRank percentile calculated?

A percentile recognition is based on the displayed rank position and evaluated population for the stated ranking context. The ranking basis and population are shown so the result can be interpreted transparently.

Can payment change a researcher ranking or eligibility?

No. Eligibility is calculated before payment. Payment is only for issuing an eligible certificate or related service and cannot improve a ranking, percentile or recognition tier.

When can a customer download a certificate?

Cashfree and PayPal orders are released after the payment gateway confirms a successful paid transaction. Bank or direct-deposit orders remain locked until an administrator verifies the payment and marks the order paid or approved.

Are certificate downloads protected?

Yes. ResearchRank checks the related order status at the certificate download endpoint. A direct PDF URL does not bypass the paid-order requirement.

How can a certificate be verified?

Every issued certificate includes a unique certificate number and verification record. The QR code or verification link can be used to confirm the certificate status and recorded recognition context.

Are ResearchRank certificates digitally signed?

Eligible paid certificates can be signed automatically using the configured ResearchRank signing identity. The verification record remains the authoritative online status of the issued certificate.

Can I publish my researcher profile publicly?

Yes. Signed-in customers can publish an eligible linked researcher profile. Public profiles use canonical URLs, structured data, social preview metadata and sitemap discovery controls.

Can I make my profile private again?

Yes. Customers can turn public profile publishing off from their account. ResearchRank then updates discovery signals and removes the profile from the published-profile discovery set.

How does ResearchRank handle researcher names and affiliations?

ResearchRank displays the available profile identity and affiliation metadata and may show current or last-known affiliations. Researchers should review linked identifiers and request corrections when a profile match is inaccurate.

What is an RRK ID?

RRK ID is the ResearchRank portal identifier used to reference a ResearchRank profile or record. It helps keep public ResearchRank URLs and verification records consistent.

Why can citation counts or h-index values change?

Scholarly records are refreshed over time. New publications, citations, corrections, merges and affiliation updates can change live analytics. Issued certificates preserve their issue-time recognition context.

Does one metric measure research quality completely?

No. Citation counts, h-index, normalized impact, publication volume and percentile rank each describe different aspects of scholarly activity. ResearchRank recommends interpreting several indicators together.

How are duplicate or ambiguous researcher names handled?

ResearchRank uses available identifiers, affiliations, publication patterns and linked scholarly metadata to improve profile matching. Ambiguous profiles should be reviewed before formal use.

What payment information does ResearchRank store?

Online card or wallet credentials are entered through the selected payment gateway. ResearchRank stores transaction references and order status needed for fulfilment, but it does not intentionally collect raw card credentials.

How do refunds or cancellations affect certificates?

Refund and cancellation handling follows the published policy and the order status. A revoked or invalidated certificate can be reflected in its public verification record.

Can institutions use ResearchRank analytics?

Yes. Institution pages and research intelligence tools can support benchmarking, subject analysis, publication trends and research visibility review when interpreted with the published methodology.

How does ResearchRank support search-engine discovery?

Indexable pages use canonical URLs, XML sitemaps, structured data, breadcrumb markup, social metadata and search-engine notification queues. Private account and transaction pages remain noindex.

How can I correct profile information?

Use the contact or support route and include the ResearchRank profile URL, RRK ID and the exact field that needs review. Supporting institutional or identifier evidence can help the team validate the correction.

Where can I learn how rankings and certificates work?

Use the Ranking Methodology, Calculation Guide, Eligibility Rules, Certificate Types, Verification Standard and Research Intelligence Journal pages. These pages explain the main ResearchRank workflow and limitations.

DETAILED GUIDANCE

Detailed service guidance

ResearchRank separates source data, analytical calculations, eligibility, payment, issuance and permanent verification so each step can be understood independently.

How should this page be interpreted?

Source-linked scholarly metadata describes the profile; ResearchRank calculations add ranking and recognition context. Eligibility is assessed independently of payment, and the certificate registry records the issued recognition separately from the changing live profile.

What happens when research data changes?

Profiles and rankings may change when indexed works, citations, affiliations, topics, open-access status or source records refresh. An issued certificate preserves its issue-time evidence and context; the live research profile can continue to evolve.

How are certification and payment separated?

Eligibility is determined before payment. Payment cannot create, increase or improve eligibility. Online payment must be verified by the server before certificate release; approved manual transfers follow the same issuance controls.

How are rankings and recognition calculated?

Ranking pages identify their ranking basis and evaluated population. Percentile recognition uses the profile's eligible ranking position relative to that population. Composite indicators are analytical aids and do not silently replace the stated ranking basis.

How is customer information protected?

Contact and delivery information is used for order fulfilment, certificate access, fraud prevention and limited transactional reminders. Sensitive payment credentials are handled by secure gateway components rather than stored in ResearchRank.

How does permanent verification work?

Each issued certificate receives a unique certificate number and verification record. Verification can show certificate status, issue date, recognition context and recorded scholarly evidence. A QR/reference on the PDF can point back to that record.

What are the limitations of bibliographic data?

Open scholarly metadata can contain author disambiguation errors, affiliation gaps, duplicate records, incomplete coverage and field differences. Source identifiers and linked records should be reviewed when the result is used for formal assessment.

What is the difference between live data and issue-time evidence?

Live data is refreshed for discovery and analytics. Issue-time evidence is the snapshot/context attached to the certificate transaction. This distinction helps preserve what was recognised even when current metrics later change.

How should ResearchRank recognition be described?

Use the exact certificate title and ResearchRank recognition class shown on the verification record. Do not describe a ResearchRank certificate as an official award or endorsement from ResearchRank, ORCID, a university, publisher or another external data source unless that organisation separately confirms it.
